Planning partner

John is the planning partner at Dare, the leading digital marketing agency.

John's early career was in journalism, latterly as the news editor of Campaign. He moved to the media communications agency, Motive, in 1999, where he set up the digital unit. A year later, following Motive's merger with Starcom, he became director of Starcom IP, which grew into a top ten online media agency during his tenure.

He joined Dare in August 2003 and has put the discipline of planning at the heart of the agency’s approach to digital marketing.

After four years as Chairman of the Institute of Practitioners in Advertising's Digital Marketing Group, John was awarded a Fellowship of the IPA in 2007 to acknowledge his sustained contribution to the marketing communications industry.
