Joint managing director
After graduating from Nottingham University and after a brief flirtation with a career in the RAF, Toby pursued a career in advertising production. He worked for a number of production companies, most latterly the Paul Weiland Film Company, before a career change in 2002 saw him join AMV BBDO as a Planner.
He worked on a number of accounts including Nicorette, Yell and Norwich Union and was appointed to the board in January 2006. 2006 saw further success with the award of an IPA effectiveness silver award for Nicorette. But the lure of digital proved too strong and Toby joined Dare in December 2006 as a Senior Planner working on Barclays and Vodafone Group. He was promoted to Planning Director and the board in October 2007 and has also worked on BMW, Barclaycard and Sony having been part of the pitch team.
In October of 2009 he was promoted to Joint Managing Director, where, alongside Claire Hynes, he is responsible for the management and future direction of the agency.
