Become a Graduate Trainee

Every year we take on graduates in our Client Services and Planning departments. We give them training, mentor support and an ongoing challenge – to make every piece of work the best it can possibly be. To create excellence we need people with drive and passion. We need people who are inspired and who can inspire others. And we want people who can make a difference to our clients' brands (who, incidentally, include Barclays, Vodafone, Sony, ITV and Sony Ericsson – not bad eh?).

What does Client Service mean?

The Client Service team makes things happen. Our producers are set daily challenges and their task is to meet them, on time and on budget. Challenges come from all sorts of places; an unusual client request (that's an unusual request, not an unusual client), a strategic shift, a creative curve-ball or a budgetary straight-jacket. Our best producers are life's optimists; those with a ‘can do' attitude. They get on well with people, have supreme powers of communication and the charm (NOT the smarm) to persuade others to go beyond the call of duty. They're our heroes.

What do Planners do?

Think, look and listen mainly. By keeping their eyes and ears open, they absorb what's going on in the world; what consumers are thinking; what's going on in their clients' markets; what's happening creatively. They use these insights to write a brief to stimulate and inspire the designers and copywriters. Our planners are naturally curious and as sharp as a tack. They are genuinely interested in what's going on around them, they see trends but have their feet firmly grounded in commercial reality. They're our boffins – and we love them for it.

Why Dare?

Dare is different from traditional advertising or marketing agencies, not least because we specialise in “marketing for the digital world”. This means the work we produce is designed not only to reach consumers within digital channels, but also to appeal to their digital mindset - one which demands transparency and responsiveness from every brand.

Our awards performance, along with our long-standing client relationships, goes some way to demonstrate the success of our creative output. We are the only agency to be named Digital Agency of the Year by Campaign for four years – 2007, 2005, 2004 and 2003. In 2008-9 we've scooped a number of Revolution Awards, Webbys and IMAA awards.

We have everyone in the agency to thank for those awards – not just the creative department. We fundamentally believe that stunning creative work starts with an idea that's rooted in an insight. That idea can come from anyone, regardless of department or job title.

We believe that the best work is the result of collaboration. That's why we hire talented people that are also nice. We're not interested in prima donnas or glory hunters.

We're fortunate that we attract the best people thanks to our reputation in the digital industry. But there's no room for complacency. To keep people happy and motivated, we make sure they have the space, resource, training and processes to develop and the ongoing support of senior colleagues in all disciplines.

The Programme

Because we want the best people we make sure we do things properly:

  • We've lined up at least four weeks of intensive induction including talks from industry luminaries, training from leading suppliers and entry to the prestigious IPA Stage 1 training course.
  • You'll also gain experience at our partner agencies within the Cossette group including, MCBD, Elvis, Band&Brown, Brando and Identica.
  • Right from day one you'll be given the opportunity to demonstrate your skills with plenty of chance to get hands-on.
  • You'll be given your very own mentor; someone in the agency who's there to support you both practically and emotionally.
  • Within a matter of weeks you'll know enough to confuse the hell out of your parents.
